At the begging of the semester in my first year in PNU I was very excited to study the course named “DICE”. Because it is a unique course, I have looked at the material that we will take in each lecture and caught my attention to the first lecture that we will write a reflection on an online workshop . It is a virtual workshop by the “Open University” called: “Business Fundamentals: Effective Communication” I think it will help me a lot in management specialization and also when i open my own company it will help me to communicate with companies and other employees. It got me excited to get started on the workshop.
Analysis of learning:
The main key learning in this activity was about the business communication . I knew some ways to enhance the effectiveness of my business communication . Commercial communication is classified as internal and external. internal business communication takes place within the organization and flows in different directions. External business communication includes interactions between organizations and also the outside surroundings. as an example, AN organization could communicate with members of the general public, like current and potential customers, and with alternative organizations, like suppliers, government offices and also the media.
. Business communication may take the form of oral interaction through conversations and meetings either face-to-face, online or on the phone. It can also be carried out via written documents, such as emails, marketing materials, website and social media posts, reports and proposals. I have learned how to hold meetings in all the situations I can meet at work. The meetings are not just a board where the staff and the manager are located. There are meetings over the web, over the phone and the Internet it requires thorough preparation. I knew how to organize a successful meeting. These are some instructions and fixtures to hold the meeting.
I’ve learned that communicating with employees and managers in a respectful and formal way reflects your personality positively Even when you go, you’re going to have an impact .this reminded me of a quote I once read that Bill Gates said that “In business, the idea of measuring what you are doing, picking the measurements that count like customer satisfaction and performance… you thrive on that.”(Gates,2019).
The other main key of learning in this activity I learned was “Business presentations” in the past i used to be not sensible in presenting a presentation as a result of the worry that may take over me but i have learned a way to set up, structure and deliver a presentation whereas keeping my aims and my audience in mind. Also I have to define all the steps that will be applied during the work on the preparation of the presentation, which contribute to linking the elements of work with each other, and there are three important points to be implemented:
· an introduction
· Subject
· Conclusion
An effective presentation is clearly organized. to make sure that your audience understands and remembers the key info and points you would like to deliver, you would like to form positive your presentation is clearly structured. It ought to have associate introduction, main body and conclusion, and every a part of your speak ought to clearly contribute to your goal.am happy that this workshop would make me batter in presenting and improve presenting skill. presentations can take place in a physical or virtual context. Virtual presentations, called webinars, are presented in real time to audiences ranging from just a few people to hundreds of participants. Also A good presentation facilitates a two-way interaction between participants. A well-prepared presentation provides presenters and their audiences a chance to have interaction with one another in many ways. Presenters accomplish this by establishing eye contact and responding to the audience’s reactions by adjusting the speed of delivery, building in pauses and repetition, and increasing or reducing the number and complexness of content. To any interact the audience, presenters might flow into preceding materials or associate degree abstract many days before the speak. At the top of their presentation, they’re going to additionally reply to any queries or comments from their audience. so one in every of the goals of displays given throughout business conferences are often to stimulate a discussion on the points raised. “Our work is the presentation of our capabilities”. Evaluation of learning:
After taking this course it was such a good experience because
I think it helps me to improve my communication and presenting skills It made
me excited and I have full confidence in organizing and achieving my goals in
management I think I am ready to open my own company and I would
recommend my relatives to help them in their
career. I always remember this quote” If you’re trying to create a
company, it’s like baking a cake. You have to have all the ingredients in the
right proportion”(Musk,2018)
